Rapidity bin multiplicity correlations from a multi-phase transport model

چکیده
The central-arbitrary bin and forward-backward bin multiplicity correlation patterns for Au+Au collisions at √ sNN= 7.7 − 62.4 GeV are investigated within a multi-phase transport (AMPT) model. An interesting observation is that for √ sNN < 19.6 GeV Au+Au collisions, these two correlation patterns both have an increase with the pseudorapidity gap, while for √ sNN > 19.6 GeV Au+Au collisions, they decrease. We mainly discuss the influence of different evolution stages of collision system on the centralarbitrary bin correlations, such as the initial conditions, partonic scatterings, hadronization scheme and hadronic scatterings. Our results show that the central-arbitrary bin multiplicity correlations have different responses to partonic phase and hadronic phase, which can be suggested as a good probe to explore the dynamical evolution mechanism of the hot dense matter in high-energy heavy-ion collisions. Prospects of searching for (un)particles from Hidden Sectors using rapidity correlations in multiparticle production at the LHC
Most signatures of new physics have been studied on the transverse plane with respect to the beam direction at the LHC where background is much reduced. In this paper we propose the analysis of inclusive longitudinal (pseudo)rapidity correlations among final-state (charged) particles in order to search for (un)particles belonging to a Hidden Sector beyond the Standard Model, using a selected sa...
متن کاملCharged particle rapidity distributions at relativistic energies
Using a multiphase transport model ~AMPT!, which includes both initial partonic and final hadronic interactions, we study the rapidity distributions of charged particles such as protons, antiprotons, pions, and kaons in heavy ion collisions at RHIC. The theoretical results for the total charged particle multiplicity at midrapidity are consistent with those measured by the PHOBOS Collaboration i...
متن کاملEnergy scan of correlations in p+p and Be+Be from NA61/SHINE
The existence of the critical point (CP) of strongly interacting matter is still an open problem. An extensive strong interactions program including a search of the CP and the study of the onset of deconfinement was started by the NA61/SHINE experiment at the CERN SPS. A two dimensional scan of the phase diagram is performed to search for the CP and to shed light on the phase transition region....
متن کاملInfluence of the bin - to - bin and inside bin correlations on measured quantities
A new method for measuring the quantities influenced by bin-to-bin and inside bin correlations is presented. This method is essential for large multiplicity and/or high density of particles in phase space. The method was applied to the two particle correlation functions of e + e − →W + W − events.
متن کامل2 00 8 STAR ’ s measurement of Long - range forward - backward multiplicity correlations as the signature of “ dense partonic matter ” in the Heavy
Forward-backward multiplicity correlations have been measured with the STAR detector for Au+Au, Cu+Cu and p+p collisions at √ sNN = 200 GeV. A strong, long-range correlation is observed for central heavy ion collisions that vanishes in semiperipheral events and pp collisions. There is no apparent scaling of correlation strength with the number of participants involved in the collision. Both the...
